When I'm Gone

by Taylor   Dec 13, 2007

I'm happy today, I can smile without a care
I have the time of my life when I see your stare
I know you miss your old real friends, but we don't really feel the same
But everyone pays attention when we hear your name
I sit at the table, and see you from across the room
You know if you stay in this situation, you'll be heading to doom
I see you in the hallway, too, but I just walk by
You see the flash of blond hair and you try to catch my eye
I ignore you and just keep on walking, smile on my face
At lunch you know you miss your old place
Your seat right across from me, and we used to laugh so hard
It's funny to hear you've been hit by the black shard
Your curiosity matches to a newborn fawn
But you know you'll miss me when I'm gone

You see I'm happy and just having fun
I'm happy to say I don't really like you right now, I won
My prediction for now is that you'll be sorry
When your "cool reputation" has ended, and you're eyes won't be starry
You'll try coming back to us, I don't know if we'll accept
You better hope on your life, that you'll have to regret
Ditching us, hating us, and treating us like crap
You're probably going through withdraw, you need rehab
You're running in circles, and when she's not here
You're all alone at the cool table, trying not to shed a tear
Aw, poor you, you pathetic thing
Acting like you were shot down with a broken wing
Well hunny, I've felt worse, like being used
Or having a boyfriend, and me, he abused
Or maybe thinking, you finally have the one, but then you hit a strike
Sound familiar to you? Who does that sound like?
I can tell you're awake, even before dawn
You know you'll miss me when I'm gone

When you walk outside, you see my name on your lawn
And you know you're gonna miss me when I'm gone
