Tangerine sky

by InvisibleHourglass   Dec 14, 2007

There's a pretty
tangerine sky
out tonight.
If only denial wouldn't
cease my comfort
as layer
after layer
of
tangerine sky
draped over me
my mind is leaving
me.
bye
bye day
hello
hello night
with stars after stars
upon moonlight.
layer
after layer
of darkness.
shard
after shard
of light.
with stars so bright
and night sky so safe
my heart will stay with me
while my mind leaves me
here to see
the tangerine sky
replaced with night
and stars
and moon.
I'd stay here forever
but my mind has come
back again
back again
overcoming
my heart's wishes
sending me
sending me
toward sleep
which always
will come
right after the tangerine sky
and night stars.
