Midnight Fling

by I Seem to be the Heartless   Dec 14, 2007

"No-strings attached"?
Why didn't you say so from the start?
I could've lived with that.
But you told me a bit late -
My heart has already gotten involved
And you're about to break it.

I never wanted more
Than a part time thing
But you insisted you wanted more.
Yeah, I was dumb for falling for it,
But what was I to do?
My heart had already fallen for you.

"No-strings-attached"
I wish you had said something sooner.
I like the idea of never having
To worry about commitment,
Never worrying about doing things wrong.
It's all just for fun.

And now, lying in your bed,
Your arms wrapped around me,
I know it's time to leave.
Although, I have one foot in your bedroom,
One foot is out the door.
So sleep sweet, my part time fling.

Beautiful, I had a sort of a fling 3 weeks ago with a girl that's getting a divorced. The day we arranged to meet that night for a good time, her husband shaw us talking. She said we must arrange it for another night that was a good thing as her husband got someone to spy on her. Now we are waiting for the divorce to finish, then we'll see what is going for that.
    5/5, loved the poem.
