I've seen you walk on by
When we're at school.
You look kind of shy,
Just the way I like a guy.

But then I see
Her at your side,
And I wish it was me
That was holding your hand, Lee.

And now you're here
Standing all alone,
In your hand a beer.
Oh how good it feels to have you near.

"So, where is Jess,"
I ask, standing at your side.
Your hair is a mess
"She's left," you gently confess.

On hearing the news, I smile.
I hand you my number,
"If you need someone to come over for a while,
You know just who to dial."

As I walk away
I look back with a flirty grin.
I know what you long to say,
You wish I'd rather stay.

Then one night
You give me a call
"Would you come over tonight?
My girl's out for the night."

Needless to say, I agree.
I mean, who wouldn't?
I know that you want to be with me
And that she's now just a distant memory.
