The Dark Little Red Riding Hood

I work all day
Without any pay
I crave freedom
Complain seldom

Clothes of steel
I must rip and peel
Before I can leave
A plan I conceive

Clothes are torn
And bliss is born
Now I'm humming
"Mother I'm coming"

My journey begins
Path of needles or pins?
"Which one will you take?"
A gruff voice states

A wolf appears
But I don't fear
"Needles" I reply
Leaving no goodbye

Mothers house I arrive
I knock but no reply
A hole I find in the wall
Through it I will crawl

"Mother I'm home!"
I yell while I roam
She was on the ground
Not making a sound

Blanket over her face
As if she was disgraced
"Mother I'm thirsty"
I say hastily

"Wine is in the cupboard"
She stepped forward
Drinking every drop
The bird said "stop"

"Mother's blood you drank"
Maybe there was a mistake
"The bird said i drank your blood"
Terrible thoughts start to flood

"Throw a boot at him"
Mother said grim
"Mother I'm hungry"
Eating was banished

"Meat is on the table"
She said desireful
I devour the meat
Such a tasty treat

"Mother's flesh you ate"
The cat said looking at the plate
"The cat said I ate your flesh"
Worry on her face was fresh

"Throw the coat at the cat"
Mother said as she sat
"Mother I'm tired"
"Sleep I desire"

"Come sleep beside me"
She said with a plea
I knelt beside mother
Her face still covered

"Mother what big ears you have"
"All the better to hear you with my dear"
"Mother what big eyes you have"
"All the better to see you my dear"
"Mother what paws you have"
"All to hold you with my dear"
"Mother what big teeth you have"
"All the better to eat you with my dear"

That day little red riding hood died.
