Cheaters.

by Teria   Dec 15, 2007

Cheaters.

Swallow me whole with those fire red lips of yours,
covered in lipstick and coated in glitter galore.

Turn me over - for I've been naughty this season,
chanting such devilish rhymes of some odd sort:

Burning cigarette holes in jeans that aren't mine,
and, finishing off the lives I shouldn't have touched.

Yet, I'm touched by the tears upon your cherry red cheeks,
I'm touched by the lies I've told with such honorable grace.

With feelings of accomplishment I now stand my ground,
for it's more than distance and love this cheater has found.

This is such a powerful piece you have created. I love the 2 lines stanzas, with longs lines they were descriptive and really painted vivid imagery into my mind.

Swallow me whole with those fire red lips of yours,
covered in lipstick and coated in glitter galore.

Them two lines really stood out to me, the word choice made it easy for me to picture what you were portraying within my mind.

Turn me over - for I've been naughty this season,

I also loved them two lines because they created such bitter sweet sarcasm into your poem.

This was unique to me I felt like your twist at the end really opened the poem up giving a nice finishing touch. When I read the title I was persuming it would be a tiny touch cliche but I should of known better coming from you.

    Well done. Truely amazing. ~Mel
