As I drew my curtains one Christmas Day,
I saw a thin coat of snow, that lay
Upon the ground,
So gleaming white and without a sound.
There were footprints in the still white snow,
I knew they were Santa's, when he sang "Ho-Ho-Ho!"
But one thing was for sure,
They weren't yours that lead to my door.
Because you are not here anymore,
But I wish you were - and that's for sure!
I miss you all and every day,
And that's all I would have to say.
To tell you how much I love you today,
And how much I love you when I hear Santa's sleigh.
And although I might be enjoying my presents instead,
You will always be in my heart, and that's said.
And I know you are not here at the moment,
But I understand why you went....
