Barely Alive

by Raychil   Dec 15, 2007

*Parenthesis *( )* mean I'm speaking*

The Rain is pouring
The angels cry
As they watch this boy
Barely alive

His heart does not beat
His eyes do not cry
Can anyone save him,
Or will he die?

Broken wings,
Weigh on his back.
A once golden halo,
Faded, turned black

Lightening strikes
Anger burns
His mind is bending,
Twists and turns

He hates his reflection
(I love the way you are)
He feels so alone
(You know I'm never far)

The darkness seeps in
(My angel is falling)
He's blocked off the world
(Can you not hear me calling?)

The wings that now weigh him
Were once so bright
The halo thats faded
Once shown so much light

His heart has grown empty
(Please stop your crying)
Can anything heal him?
(Really I'm trying)

There's no one to run to
(I'm still here you know)
The wings have left him
(I won't let you go)

(I still see an angel)
(I still see wings)
(I don't see this darkness)
(I see the beauty you bring)

The rain is still pouring
The angels still cry
As they watch their fallen
Barely alive.

I have been in this position several times before. If only people could see themselves the way their friends see them this world would have so much more hope and happiness in it.
Amazing poem! =] I LOVE it. keep it up.
