This time my best wasnt good enough
It may be good enough for them
But it wasnt good enough for me
Smiles on their faces
Proud of what Ive become
Still I smile to hide my sadness
But in solitude it shows
I failed myself
Average used to suit me just fine
But now I feel inadequate
Lost among the nothings and the nobodies
Bound for a life of mediocrity
Playing a game of catch up
Trying to keep my head above the water
Struggling just to stay afloat
I dont want to drown in this sea of nothingness.
