Ignorance

by Taylor   Dec 16, 2007

I see you in the hallway, and I look straight ahead
I turn from your eyes and shrug instead
Kelly Clarkson was right, ignorance is bliss
And for once in my life, I don't want your kiss
I'm over you hunny, nothing to worry about
And I'm just so happy that I can shout
When we're in lunch, across the room, I see you stare
And when you walk by me there's poison in the air
You put on way too much TAG and AXE
And I think it's time for you to organize your facts
Get through your head, I don't need you anymore
I was just a sucker for love, and you made me sore
But Cupid missed this time, he didn't shoot my heart
Now I won't have to think of the words: "Till death do we part"
Baby I don't care, not now, probably never
In a few weeks you're going to try to be clever
You'll try to weave your way back in my heart
But I saw it in your eyes right from the start
Let's take a trip back to the day when we first met
You were the shy boy who made me never forget
People can change in the blink of an eye
But it's still the girls who can make boys cry
Sweetie, get over yourself, I think it's time for us to let go
Of everything we had, all our memories, you know?
Oh God, it sounds like we're breaking up, but we already did before
Like seven months ago, but it doesn't matter anymore
I'm not keeping track, and right now we're not even friends
But now I think we shall restore amends
Now that I'm unbreakable, nothing can stop me
I'm not scared now, and now you need to worry
No one is holding you back, so just run
Though you've hurt us all, it won't be much fun
Shows over love, just take your bow
And take a look at me now
Oh, how happy I am, without having to fuss about you
Not in the right way, but you did help me through
