Silence Speaks(1)

Silence has a voice,
yet not many hear it
When was the last time
you actually listened
to the silence?

No noise from cars
on the highway
No TV on in the next room
No thoughts running
through your head
Actual silence

For some,
silence may be
the peaceful sounds of crickets
and tree frogs singing
outside your window

For some,
silence may be
the ghostly whistle
of a train
in the distance

Silence says something
it speaks
you just need to take
the time to listen
