A Lonely Hero

"he said goodbye while she cried
she said ill miss you as he let out a tear
he said ill love you until i pass away
she said i pray that i never see that day"

they kissed goodbye then he walked away
hoping that they don't leave each other this way
as she see him go he smiles one last time
and texts her saying I'm glad that you are mine

a few weeks past and everything seems OK
but there was a fear deep inside her that would not go away
every time she went to sleep her dreams were all the same
her lonely hero not alone but in a great amount of pain

weeks turned into months even tho it felt like years
there was a knock at the door a man in uniform full of tears
he stands there trying to speak the best he can and said
I'm sorry to tell you this madam I'm afraid your husband is dead

as the man left with such pain in his eyes
the women broken down into tears and prayed up to the Sky's
and then she stands up straight with her heart beaten and torn
what is she gonna say when his beautiful son is born

as a few years go as she spots a note near the door
she walked over and looked she never seen it before
it was dated about a year ago then she went up to bed
she got in opened the letter and this is what its said

everyday has being a nightmare with out you
the only thing that kept me going was our love thats true
i walked for hours and hours just trying to find help
but months went by and nothing, the wrong cards i was dealt
but then i came across a village where they invited me to stay
they offered me jobs and money to help me on my way
i went through hell and back i never through id stay alive
but after all the bombs they saw no movement and i survived

as the door came open she was greeted with a kiss
they had to make up for the times they had missed
and then he heard a scream as he saw his son
the lonely hero's back ... his work is almost done

he hugs them both ,as he smiles and then ...

he takes a vow that he will never ever leave them again.
