One foot in the water and one foot on the sand

by Fran   Dec 17, 2007

Sing me a lost song
Of loves and regrets,
While these tears fall like
Stars that help me forget

Our lies and dreams that
We held like cards,
Never out of sight but
Always under guard

In a smoke filled room
Obscuring those faces,
So let's raise a glass
To our ghosts and their graces

With their desires and needs
That seem to change places,
Seeking and searching but of
Commitment no traces.

A bit of a departure from your previous poems but still very strong.
