What's In My Stare

by MyEscape   Dec 17, 2007

* an old poem I found and thought I'd post. *

I hide behind sarcasm and 'whatever' stares
Though I can't get enough when you're standing there
I'm as see-through as glass, thin as it too
This disguise breaks when I'm next to you
What if it happens? What if you see
The true reasons I guard my heart cautiously?
Do you know the difficulty pretending provides
Or the pain I feel when I don't meet your eyes?
I'd love to look in them, fall under their spell
But you can't know, and I sure won't tell.
I'd only have heartache returned in the place
Of the love that I have if I gave it away.
You'll never feel the same as I do
So I'll keep pretending I don't love you.

This poem is now in my favorites. I absolutley love it. I can definitley relate to this right now, about how I try not to show that I love the dude. =) Anyway, this poem is amazing, and it has some pretty strong emotions.

I thought this line was a little weak..
Do you know the difficulty pretending provides

I like the ryhme and line following but not the inro...The first and the last verses are good as well. keep up the good work
