Dear Mummy and Daddy

by Willow   Dec 20, 2007

Dear Daddy,
Do you still love me like you did?
And is this silence just a temporary thing?
Will you ever look at me and smile?
And where's the joy you used to bring?
I still love you Daddy,
But you're killing me inside.
Show me that you do give a dam,
By shouting it out world wide.

Dear Mummy,
Can I please be a kid for once?
Can I run out in the rain,
Without worrying about a cold?
And can i spin around and around,
Until the stars are one big blur?
Can you hold me the way a Mother would?
Like I'm in the safest place in the world?
Can I be the daughter,
And Mummy's only little girl?
I will always be here,
But for once let me be the teenage girl.

Thats really good, the pain is felt reading this. i like the two seprate stanza's one for dad one for mum,. its very good. i think the line : Can you hold me the way a Mother would?
maybe could be changed to should? as a mother not only would hold her baby girl but SHOULD!! hold her and let her be that girl you long to be.? just an idea.

well done on this its a deep poem xx
