You'll never know

She's the girl,
eats lunch alone,
sits alone in class,
& hardly speaks in school

but when the bell goes,
she puts on a smile,
walks out of school,
& jumps in your car.

'so baby ow was your day'
is what you'll ask her
& she'll make up some story
about how much fun she had
& what her 'friends' & her got up to

& you will never see the sadness
shown deep in her eyes,
because she got good at telling fibs

& she'll do this day in day out
because you showed her,
crying was a weakness
