Autumn

by Once an Angel   Dec 21, 2007

Autumn

The breath of crisp cold air,
dancing sharply through my chest.
Resurrecting all my senses,
to take part in this lively fest.

Radiant leaves skipping across the wind,
stopping to make love with my hair,
passionately intertwining each blond strand,
with the richly seasoned air.

The warm Cinnamon sent of cider,
cheerfully leaping on the kitchen stove.
The fruits of the apple reaper,
freshly fallen in the golden apple grove.

But when the leaves have fallen,
and all color died away.
Winter tears Autumn down,
from the slowly darkening sky.

    I love this piece.
Beautiful poem, so descriptive and truly greatly written. I like vivid imagery that you created. Every stanza is fantastic. You did good job with rhymes, too, creating flawless flow from the beginning to the end.
    My favorite stanza is:

-Radiant leaves skipping across the wind,
stopping to make love with my hair,
    passionately intertwining each blond strand,
    with the richly seasoned air.-

    Original and very captivating piece.
    Keep writing!
