The Moon Was Our Witness

by A F   Dec 21, 2007

Date Written: December o8, o7

Laying upon the green grass;
You held my hand with your eyes sparkling like water in a glass;
You ran your fingers through my black hair;
You touched my lips && kissed me softly there.

The feeling of being with you is perfect;
Even the feeling of your breath on my neck.
We were in a silent sanctuary on a sunny December--
This is the kind of memory I always want to remember.

The sun's rays emphasize your eyes of blue,
As I lean back onto the oak tree looking at you.
&& then our hearts were pressed against each other-- beating so fast;
With your arm around my waist-- laying on the green grass.

&& again, you pressed your lips against mine-- caught me off guard;
If your love was an Oscar-- this is the perfect award.
It was a wonderful moment being with you that Saturday;
Your love was definitely good-- swept me away.

We were just there-- your arms wrapped around me;
Out of the blue-- you asked, 'How can you be so pretty?'
I smiled && kissed your blushed cheek;
With your words got me so meek.

Your eyes staring at mine,
We even forgot about the time.
It was already 1o:o7 in the evening,
As I was about to get up-- I heard you singing.

You were singing our favorite song;
I loved your voice-- even if the tune was wrong.
My heart began to race;
As I laughed while the tears ran down my face.

&& then you asked me to lay my head on your chest;
My eyes glued to yours-- you said, 'You're the best.'
Tears were streaming down-- && you promised me forever;
'I don't wanna lose you && I'll leave you never'

We were under the same sky,
My head on your chest as you sang me a lullaby.
Naming all the brightly shined stars--
Telling me-- they will be forever ours.

We knew it's getting pretty late-- but we didn't mind.
I finally answered your question, 'Baby, you're just blind.'
You replied, 'I'd rather be blind than call you ugly.'
I smiled, to show you how happy you made me.

I stood up && asked you to come with me,
I dragged you up-- holding your hand so tightly.
I showed you the breathtaking scenery of the city.
My hand entwined with yours; && from the moment I was sure, it's you who I wanna marry.

We were enjoying the view && talking about us as we roamed,
But then I told you I should be home.
We were walking towards your car when you told me,
'This is one of the perfect moments we'll have. There'd be more, you'll see.'

I got home past midnight,
But it's ok, it was a perfect night.
&& inside your car, you kissed me goodbye;
I handed you a photo from earlier to remember the night by.

I kissed you for the last time,
As I told you, 'I'm yours && you're mine,
I can't wait 'til I become your wife.
I promise to love you for the rest of my life.'

You wiped away my vivid tears;
You replied, 'You don't have to cry, I'll be with you through years && years,
&& baby this I promise you,"-- you said as a crystal tear fell from your eye;
&& you continued, 'I'll be with you until I die'
