Childhood Without Love

by sexyCheckers   Dec 21, 2007

[The top poem (below) is about when people ask about my parents]

Your grand dad grew up in the country,
Working class man, Never spent time with his family.
Passed the trait onto his son,
So with your dad, a relationship never begun.

And then your story ends,
Now you say you have no father,
Tell me to stop pushing you,
He never even wanted a daughter.

Your grand mother died of cancer,
And left your mother a heart broken daughter;
So she turned to alcohol to cure the pain,
And was never able to stay sober again.

And then your story ends,
Act like your mother doesnt exist,
You tell me to leave it alone,
But still I try to persist.

I want to know the stories,
I want to know about your past,
I'll tell you that im here for you,
Our relationship will last.

And ofcourse you can trust me,
I'm not ready to let you go,
Just tell me why you're pushing me away,
The truth is all I want to know.

[The bottom poem (below) is why I don't tell people]

See they don't know
Of what I've been through,
They say that they'll be there,
Well I CAN'T TRUST YOU.

I couldn't trust my parents,
They were never there,
So what's so different this time?
Why should I believe you care?

Just leave my stories where they belong,
Hidden within the shadows of the past,
I suppose I could open my heart out,
But I don't believe our relationship will last.

I won't let you near me,
Don't expect me to open up,
How do you expect me to trust
When I've had a childhood without love?
