Why does time run so very fast ?
The future turns into the present and soon into the past!
Can't man do anything except remain aghast
At this until he breathes his last?
Isn't it possible for time to freeze?
At least once in a while for the speed to decrease?
So as to put us more at ease
And prevent us from feeling as busy as bees?
Or isn't it possible for the speed to increase
When we want time to flow as fast as the breeze?
So that we need not count the fleece
In a desperate attempt to prevent time's "tease".
The answer to this is a very big "NO"
No one has the power to stop or hasten time's flow.
This is really a very big blow
To the people who want to time to hasten or slow.
If time were to stand still
At man's own sweet will,
He would have too much time to kill
And probably soon become ill.
If time were to fleet
Life would become mechanical as a drumbeat
Too many mistakes would then repeat
And man wouldn't have enough time to retreat.
So, man! Waste not your time trying to trace
Why time cannot change its pace.
Whatever is, is just in the right place
All because of Almighty's grace.
