Tough

by SweetlyBroken16   Dec 22, 2007

None can yet understand,
Why she tries so hard,
To be that perfect little girl,
Everyone wants to see.
The beauty that is deep within,
She never shows but always knows,
The pain that aches, the pain that breaks,
She gets so tired.
She feels the world on her shoulders,
Yet she is so young and so strong.
Conquering her world and the worlds around her,
Yet scared to even move along.
Alone on this ice, cracking under her feet,
No where to go, no where to run,
But still her heart beats,
Not knowing what to speak.
Pulling through with only a thread,
Making everything change for the better.
Nobody knows what she faces on a daily basis,
Because all the while,
She goes through it with a smile.
She has her days and she has her ways,
But in the end is it all worth this maze?
Just to see those smiles on their face,
Brings joy to her days.
A joy that nobody can take away,
Is a joy that she knows will surely stay.
That mirror on her wall,
Shows who she really is,
Something she wants to be proud of,
Someone she can see.
The image on the wall,
Does not define who she is.
The strength she feels,
She must hold dear.
For that very strength,
Could all disappear.
Wait, For there is help from one,
That will guide her through her days.
Just the sound of His voice,
Gives her no choice,
But to listen to the things He has to say,
Each and every day.
It makes things so clear,
Just in a single year.
To show everyone this certain man,
Even lead them into His hand.
For one day she knows,
She will follow her dreams,
Of being better than she can be.
But, just for now,
She will stay proud,
Of this dream she holds so dear.
Finding that strength deep within,
Following her heart till it leads her to Him.
