A Tragedy Finally Spoken Of.

As a matter of fact, sometimes it is better to let go,
So from this point on I am putting aside my happiness...
The pain is immense but I will never let you see me cry;
You might think you have some type of control over me,
My heart and I both know you do, that's another story-
A story that hurts way too much to even think about...

I refuse to go into details my heart can't break anymore
Let's keep it simple; A relationship gone down the drain,
After a long year somehow things just changed; That's it
For some reason, my heart always thought otherwise...
Till this day I still do not know exactly what happened;
It may be better that both of us never find out the truth,

Sometimes when I'm down I wonder where you are now
Tears will fall as I think of ways I could've made it work;
But that's where I have to put aside my own desires,
That does not mean I won't wish things were different...
In my heart I know whatever happens is for the best;
There might be a sad ending possibly happy just know-

This is my teenage love story, call it a tragedy even..
It will forever remain with me, which is why I let go.

    When I read the first sentence, I knew I was going to be hooked on this poem. As I was reading, it felt as if it was being spoken to someone yet it was so poetic and flowed flawlessly. I loved the bluntness in your second stanza.

    The way you took such a heatrbreaking topic of breaking up and fill it with a hint of hope was just beautiful and I admired that.

    "In my heart I know whatever happens is for the best;"
    ^so true!

    This is a great poem and i can relate.
    this poem for me was an attention grabber.
    i simply had to read all of it after reading the first line :]
    the emotion was very well captured
    and i liked the way you wrote this one too. :]
