Leave Her Be

by Kayt   Dec 24, 2007

Don't rob her of her innocence
Don't rob her of her youth
Let her from these chains
You've kept her in

When she couldn't take it anymore
You shoved her lower down
She couldn't eat, she couldn't sleep
Every smile grew to frowns

Her friends, we tried to cheer her up
But she grew just more depressed
She finally realized you're not the only one meant for her

Don't rob her of her innocence
Don't rob her of her youth
Let her from these chains
You've kept her in

You let me down, but mainly her
Your love was a bit too much
You made her future about you
Which was more than she could clutch

Give her time, give her space
That's all we ask of you
Let her have some freedom
At fourteen, that's what she needs to do
