My Days Are Numbered

by brie kelly wise   Dec 25, 2007

I build my castle as I reach for the sky
The sand will hold longer than you think
I feed your addiction from my two story window
I look forward to the tide as I'll fly with the water and sink

I search for your star with my telescope as an eye
It sticks out for yours is a million against one
To save your soul I'm going to need your hand
For tomorrow the bargaining ends; all bets are over and done

I sit here crunching numbers and eyeing the clock
I beg for the hand to move a little faster
I lay there with bent hands as I realize my days are numbered
And I'm so sorry for bothering you dear pastor

I can beg for forgiveness but who knows what that'll bring
I've witnessed every sign I can see on this long road
I pull up and cash in every minute I've lived for
It counts for something, for I have finally broken the code
