Scourge

by Bill Turner   Dec 25, 2007

Streets run red with blood
Battles rage ever on
Children fighting for a way of life
Not Iraq, American urban strife

Run the rock, rock the meth
Bullets taking childrens breath
Generations lost for all to see
Blindness for most of society

Never facing the darkness or woe
Overlooking the inner city plight
Donate some cash and turn back
Ignore where you got the needle track

Upper class recreational drug use
Not inner city blight and abuse
Tell yourself that little lie
Still watching the children die

    Very powerful message here, Bill...
So many people turn to drugs...all ages all classes..and for so many reasons. But most of all I think they do it because they feel lost and alone.

    Take care,

    5/5 Ingrid
