The notes fill the air around me
Taunting me in such a way
Making me relive the moments
That I shared with you that day

The hums of the bass
Bring tears to my eyes
The lyrics of the song
Remind me of your lies

The volume of the tune
Turned all the way down
I can't stand to listen to it
In the melody Id drown

Because of your memory
You've ruined this song
I thought you loved me
Apparently I was wrong

    Holy moly. This is super. I love the imagery, I love the whole concept. Probably one of the most beautiful poems I've read in a while. God knows how many times some guy's ruined a perfectly fantastic song for me. So this has probably put you on my fave poets. Obviously- 5/5
