It's History to him

There were two little kids
And they used to be the best of friends

They kissed each other upon the cheek
And promised to always be together

As the years went by they grew apart
He seemed to forget
But she never forgot.

She watched from a distance,
Afraid to get to close

And as time went on, she still waited
While he forgot their promise
And soon forgot about her

One day he surprised her by saying hello
And after many years he wished her a happy birthday

From that moment on
Her feelings got stronger
But he just went away again

She tried to stay in his life
But soon lost the fight

She now sits alone
In the corner
In the dark
Writing this poem.
