The Monarchy of the Bell

by Katie   Dec 29, 2007

The bell rings and everyone goes inside
The bell drones again and everyone gets out
This happens throughout the day until the final one
Which dismisses all only to do it again tomorrow

In this kingdom the bell reigns
It's knights are the adults
It's peasants are the children, who are divided
Aristocrats, Middling Class, and Low Class

Everyday the aristocrats think they rule
Each think he will be king one day
She will be queen one day
Because of dubious promises from the knights Guaranteeing them the throne
After all they have the most skill

The Middling Class expects less
They aren't competent for the praise, the opportunity
Or so the knights believe so and religiously imply

Few care for the low class have the least hope toward
Packed in chaotic rooms they will be the slaves
Or so the knights believe so and religiously imply

Soon the peasants won't be ruled by the bell
The knights won't order them either
Each's destiny isn't determined by rank
As many think but ultimately by something greater
The individual and only the individual
