Stage Fright

by NightPersonality   Dec 30, 2007

Their harsh sounds of laughter drown out my screams,
The tears fall and die with sickening grace,
The questions never answered with sympathy,
Pain and desperation are ignored as they turn their backs and face the sunshine.

Composure breaks as the hands reach out in a last act of love,
The reasons fall away and the audience remains silent in mourning,
Empathy is pseudo and enthusiastic in stifling whispers,
The young girl waits, she waits for the applaud and praise.

Always waiting for the one who shall never stand,
Scars are bared to prove a hysterical point,
No one moves as the screams ascend in pitch,
The curtain falls in finality, but still, the audience fails to rise.
