Save It

by Kristi White   Dec 30, 2007

I walk away when I see you
and I don't answer the phone.
I refuse to be seen with you,
I'd rather be seen alone.
You can follow me home after school
but I'll ignore you at the locker.
I don't read a single word you write
but go ahead and continue the letters.
E-mails? Why bother? I've blocked them
and your flowers I leave to wilt.
What's a gift worth here and there
when it's only bought with guilt?
The scrapbook was really beautiful
but what's the point of it now?
Thanks for the ti bits of memory
but I've already thrown the pictures our.
I appreciate your determination
but I prefer the feeling free
so save your breath for the next girl
but treat her better than you did me.
