Fruitless Love

by Nafisa   Dec 30, 2007

His turquoise eyes so piercing blue,
His deadly stare that’s fixed on you,
Which sends shivers up my spine,
Making me think that he’s all mine

His warm embrace that fills me with grace,
Yet, leaving my heart with an empty space,
The touch of his hands, an addiction so acute
When his presence is gone I’m left helplessly mute

Powerlessly, I watch the bird fly from my hands,
So high into the sky, not knowing where it lands
If only the knowledge would ease my tortured soul
Bringing solace to my weakened heart is my desired goal

Suddenly the wind blows a powerful hurl,
His return so abrupt, disrupting my world
The world I endeavoured to keep from breaking
While I strived to stop my heart from aching

Indifferent to my emotions, he glares intensely
Deep into my eyes as I surrender meekly
So desperately I try to stop from falling
Under his spell as I hear him calling

His turquoise eyes so cold and blue,
A powerful man who’s poisonous too,
Hooked on a love that’s dangerously marred
Is a girl that’s powerless, broken and scarred
