Fava [ARTHUR CHARLES MORTON]

by manic moments   Dec 31, 2007

It happened before we could realise
Before we could even open our eyes
A faint heart beat became none at all
And life halted to a small unwavering crawl

His hands were all gnarled in mine
Maybe that could have been the first sign...
Uneven where his last few days
But now he lies even among the graves

Hung his camera up for the last time
No more photos to follow his photographic rhyme
All that is left are images on the wall
It shows even the mighty must fall

Two weeks have gone by fast
And now we can look back and see it as the past
But this big hollow of a life missing eats away at this family tree
"Who to look up to?", I asked little old me

Don't see his images anywhere anymore
Don't see his foot steps on the floors
He's gone, for real this time
And somehow, I can't help thinking "what a crime..."

Got to say my goodbye
And I've had my long needed cry
Fava, its time to let you go
Fava, I love you so
