Dying In Your Arms

by Rebecca   Jan 1, 2008

You watch me with teary, blood-shot eyes
You cradle me, refusing to say your last good-bye.

I know you are very sad, not wanting me to go
But I will be above to watch over you below.

Life is not fair, I know, but you need to be strong
Time will seem very slow, so endless and painfully long.

I am glad I can expire, being held in your hands
I await my last breath; soon I'll leave this land.

I see my crimson liquid flowing all around us
I see you cry harder and you begin to cuss.

I can soon fly up above and knock on Heaven's door
But being only five years old, I had so much to live for.

My time is here, you must let go of me
My new life is locked, but I'll give you the key.

Yes, I am filled with fear, death is very scary
But go back to her; it is she you will marry.

Don't worry, up above I will not be alone
I can feel you shake, a chill right to the bone.

I will be in mom's loving arms, kissing my face
I am excited to see her again, her touch is like lace.

I am fading now, please, please don't be mad
I'll miss you very much and oh, "I Love You, Too!" dad.

Absolutley overwhelmingly sad. Full of feeling and a mixture of sadness and despair.
