Old Heart

by CryingBird   Jan 2, 2008

I have an old heart
sometimes bleeding
but always pumping
like pieces of irrelevant meat
patched together over a tragic story

This old heart beats
in rapid rythyms
when inspired by the thought
of giving itself entirely

Blood runs continually
as the tubes and canals persist
keeping it hopeful
for another exchange

I would break
a piece of my old heart
for a love
that's pure
