The Night the Moon Died

by A Victim of Fate   Jan 2, 2008

The moon reflected in her eyes,
Hiding the truth behind so many lies,
Oh how I wish I knew you oh lady mine.

The moon was the color of her dress,
Hiding her knowledge in a length of tress,
Oh how I wish you wouldn't walk the line.

The moon was the palest yellow that night,
Hiding her sadness behind her smile that night,
Oh how I wish she would sing again.

The sun paled in the brightness of her smile,
Hiding herself behind it was infantile.
Oh how I wish now that it was then.

The moon which is now dim,
Hiding away my lady moon again,
Oh how I wish I could move ahead.

No moon peaks out of the clouds this night,
Blood pale blue hidden behind the clouds sewn so tight,
Oh how I wish oh lady moon that you were not dead.
