The Daddy I Never Had

by Dying Beautifully   Jan 2, 2008

Every girl needs a daddy,
It is a fact well known.
Please don't think I am caddy,
When I use this tone.

Now daddy and I,
We used to be good friends.
He would make me laugh when I'd cry,
All his love he sends.

But one day daddy left,
He didn't love mommy no more.
Things began to shift,
But he had to walk out the door.

He began to drink and drive,
Of course he got caught.
It hurt me like a knife,
Daddy wasn't what I thought.

He got madder,
He raised his voice more.
I got sadder,
And just moved along with another chore.

I would cry,
And he wouldn't care.
I would sigh,
He would say "don't you dare".

Daddy,
where'd he go?
Mommy,
She'll never know.

Finally he gave up,
Left me to fight.
I chased him like a pup,
Any time of day or night.

He kept on running,
And I was tired.
Now he won't stop comming,
He gets me mad and wired.

Now he is trying,
To go back to what we were.
But I will end up crying,
Because it's happened that's why I am sure.

Daddy left Mommy,
Because he could not love.
Daddy leaves me,
Because he does not love.

Every girl needs a daddy,
That is a fact well known.
Please don't say I am caddy,
For now you know why I must use this tone.

Wow good job babe, good poem, strong topic, love the poem, love you, lil' worried tho

  • This poem is sad:( mostly because of the topic. i hate a dad who has the chance to be a father but choses not to be... it's like that old saying "anyone can be a father but it takes a spiecal kind of man to be a dad"...
