It all started that stormy night,
when the policeman came to the door.
i knew it was about him,
i knew it for sure.

i strained my ears while listening
to what the policeman said,
my parents never knew,
they thought i was asleep in my bed.

i should have seen it coming,
i thought he was acting weird
a thousand thoughts raced through my mind
but these thoughts were not as bad as what my mother feared.

i awoke to my mother crying
and waiting by the door
i hugged her tight and asked what was wrong
she simply said I'll be home at four.

my mother wouldn't tell me
my father i dare not ask
so i dressed fro school and brushed my teeth
i had to get to class

many people asked that day
what on earth was wrong
apparently i was just sitting there
staring all day long

i couldn't figure out what had made my parents so sad
for a second i thought it was me
but even i was not that bad.

the day they were to tell me day by day neared
but what they were to tell me was nothing i had feared.
