A Closed Street in Carol Stream

by Marc DeGuzman   Jan 2, 2008

My puke spills all over the floor
I just can't take this anymore
Get away from him. You're all mine
Only you can ease the pain inside

Deleting past conversations
Reliving all those lacerations
Isn't it just the sweetest deal
Knowing all these wounds won't heal?

Going out of my way to hurt you
To hurt you again and again
But won't you just be my friend?
Just so I won't hurt you again
Just so I won't hurt you again
Won't you just be my friend?

So breathe with me slowly
As I stoop so lowly

Everything we had in the past
I used to hope that it would last
Bitter fate won't let me do a thing
As this apology falls on frail wings

I regret the things I had said
As I twist and turn on this bed
Memories turn into bittersweet dreams
As my life rips apart at the seams

Going out of my way to hurt you
To hurt you again and again
But won't you just be my friend?
Just so I won't hurt you again
Just so I won't hurt you again
Won't you just be my friend?

Suspended a moment in time
Just so I can see you shine

One last time
