Summer nights..

I remember those late summer nights
when "I love you more" were our only
fights. We always seemed so perfect
to me, but now the truth, I finally see.

We'd go to the lake and stay there all
day. When our parents called we'd ask
to stay. Then finally when we were
forced to go, we'd walk back to my
house, holding hands, walking slow.

We watched and waited for the light
to blink and then the sun would begin
to sink. Sitting on that bench, it all
seemed so right. Looking across the
lake, seeing all that light.

The stars gazed down at us from above.
It seems not too long ago, we were in
love. We'd head back home and part with
a kiss. These things I will always miss.....
