When I Said I Loved You, I Swear I Lied

by Jenni Marie   Jan 3, 2008

When I told you I was falling for you
You bought so easily into my lies
You never once doubted my feelings
Or saw the hatred concealed in my eyes

When I told you I cared for you
Your stupid ego was far to big to see
That I was lying right through my teeth
For you, I was planning endless misery

When I kissed you softly on the lips
Never once did you seem to believe
That I was messing with your heart
And sweetheart, you were so naive

When I nestled into your embrace
Thought you again controlled my heart
Never questioning if I was being true
Oblivious that I wanted to tear you apart

When I whispered those three little words
You bought so easily into my false disguise
Never guessed everything was about revenge
Here's the truth...everything I said was lies.

Boy you have written a lot of poems for contests. I hope you won because they are so good. And I'm pleased to say that this has never happened to me nor would I do this to anyone.
