Beating Hearts Lie

by Megan Sue   Jan 4, 2008

Confusion..despair
a beat down heart
like the rhythm of the earth
has made the pieces fall apart

for it lay there helpless
beating still..it fades
clashing colors hit the floor
tears from the heart..a final say

life conflicts with its death
another mistake she made
thinking too much..too little
her whispers sent away

secrets kept inside
no words can make her say
she's as silent as the grave stone
another innocent mistake

she still smiles..little by little
she hides the fears well
that everything will come crashing down
an open bomb without her shell

an explosion of emotions
that was kept down deep inside
for she knew her problems
would soon easily collide

it came down to the wire
her feelings were lost to let go.
sending a message.
to just let you know.

its so easy to forget.
too hard to spread our wings.
and move on to open skys.
and trade in our puppet strings.
