Dear Son, Ive been waiting

by Davey   Jan 5, 2008

Wake up and listen
Listen, my son, to your father
I may have grown old, but I promise you
I have something important to say
Take my hand and ill pull you out of this
You're hanging on the edge of a mountain
How have you grown so far from the little boy I used to know?
You were no more than a innocent child

Who are you now?
You're a man with so much to hide
Please, my son, listen to what I have to say
I am not lying when I say, you've changed
You look in the mirror and your expression changes
The pictures I see I barely recognize you anymore

You live a life as a criminal
Running from your own ignorance
The light is here, I see it myself
Your light, your salvation
Hes waiting for you son, I am waiting
Now let my take your hand and pull you out of this

You watch yourself from afar
Resting on the hourglass
You time is wasting, your falling farther everyday
Ignoring those around you reaching out
With every good deed made, it is covered
Your lost, and you know it

Wake up and listen
Listen, my son, to your Father
You have fallen from me, But I am here
I stand by your side waiting for you to listen
Now take my hand and come back to me
I can bring you out of this
I am the only one
