Crossed Lines

by Crimson Isengard   Jan 6, 2008

The first time I met you
I was terrified
The way you looked
Seemed so tough to me

Who knew then
That a few years later
You'd reenter my life?
Or that I'd fall so deeply for you?

At first, you were some guy
Then you became my friend
Just by saying "you talk too much"
And then it happened

I began to notice little things
Like how sweet your smile was
It was then that I fell in love
It was then that I crossed a dangerous line

That crossed line has led me
To a deep and sorrowful love
But as painful and lonely as it is
I wouldn't trade it for anything

For even though you don't see
How much you mean to me
You still give me so much joy
And I forget to hate myself

And even though we're far apart
You're always close by
You're next to me in my memories
Making me smile and laugh

So if you ever read this
My dear friend, my first love
Know that you will always have it
You will always have my heart
