On Her Way

by MyEscape   Jan 7, 2008

This one stop light town won't hold her back
She tied her dreams to her car's luggage rack
A pocket of cash, and a tank full of gas
Shaking hands holding on to a one way pass

Because out where she's going, the green won't last long
She's bound to get stuck, if they don't like her songs
So she's practicing now, windows rolled down
Smiling while the wind blows her hair around

The butterflies whorled when she passed the sign
Marking nineteens years that she's leaving behind
Now it's off to the highway of high hopes and dreams
No time to wonder if she forgot anything

Goodbyes were said, and last minute hugs were given
So she's on her way to single-life living
Wonder where it will take her...she doesn't know
But she wanted out, and now she's ready to go.
