Imaginary Shield (Old)

by Kayt   Jan 8, 2008

I was sitting in the rain
On an abandoned soccer field
Trying to cover up
With my imaginary shield

I wore my purple sweater
For the fifth time in a row
I was so heartbroken
More than you can know

I was crying so hard
Thinking about you
Thinking you were thinking
About me too

Why do you leave me
Every night like this
I wish we could share again
That one special kiss

But I was sitting in the rain
On an abandoned soccer field
Trying to cover up
With my imaginary shield

I love you rang through my ears
Traveling to my eyes
Starting one of my
Never-ending crys

Cars kept driving past
Honking at me
But I just dropped my head down
On top of my left knee

And I was sitting in the rain
On an abandoned soccer field
Trying to cover up
With my imaginary shield
