Earthquake

by EMMAlouise   Jan 9, 2008

He takes my hand and grasps it tight,
Silent shadows in the night,
Were hiding from the world.
Let it begin.

He pulls me closer, keeps me warm,
Holds me til the break of dawn,
The landscape seems to turn.
Let it come in...

And I feel everything you are,
I see everything you say,
Your breath is shallow on my neck,
As your fingers catch my dress.
And the sun scratches the skyline,
Your eyes are fixed on mine,
And I taste each move you make.

My heart has its own little earthquake.

His lips so softly graze my face,
He shields me in his warm embrace,
As the wind whips through my hair,
I feel only him.

He intertwines his hand in mine,
I feel my eyes begin to shine,
As tears beyond compare,
Roll down my chin.

And the world is crashing down,
I breathe every sickening noise,
Your words burn in my ears,
As I cough up all my tears.
Now yesterday seems so far,
Why does this have to be so hard?
And Im starting to break.

My heart has its own little earthquake.

When every wall was down,
You picked me up, dusted my crown,
Re-built each turret and tower,
And said 'hey, dont worry flower.'
You pulled my petals one by one,
Until everything was gone,
And made the sweetest potpourri,
With whatever was left of me.

You can actually look as this poem in a few ways, so if you saw him as being sweet at the start and realized it was a break up toward the end... go and re-read it now, and you will see it differently. I hope. Enjoy =]
