Valentine's Day.

Looking out the window
Tears in her eyes
Seeing the car pull out of the driveway
Just wanting to know why

She sees her mom driving away
Her dad still hasn't got up from the bed
She begins to worry
What could of he said

What set her mom off
What made her go away
She is crying now
She doesn't know what to say

She runs down the stairs
Tears pouring down each step
She finally sees her brother
She tells him mom left

He says it is alright
And to go talk to dad
Her brother seems to be fine with it
Then why is she so sad

She needs to be hugged
But no one wants to talk
So she gets her jacket and her phone
And goes to take a walk

She calls her friend
She always knows what to do
She can't help but keep crying
Even though she doesn't want too

She hangs up her phone
It was getting late and dark outside
So on the walk home, she cried
Until she finally decided to go inside

An hour or two later
Her mom's car was in the driveway
Her mom came inside
And had nothing to say

That was on Valentine's Day
A day for love and friends
I don't believe in that holiday anymore
Because every true love ends.

My mom was so mad
My dad couldn't even look at her
I think she finally got over that
But I am not quite sure.
