Where are you?

It's always been a part of me
a sign of joyfulness and cheer
but now its hard for me to do
when certain ones are near

they look at me with arrogant smiles
i find it hard to speak
when they walk by i turn away
sometimes i feel so weak

deep down inside my broken heart
i know nothing i've done wrong
i write these words to move on past
and bring back what is gone

where are you "smile", i need you back
to mend this heart of mine
with your help i'll take a step
to a better place and time :)

    Again, the hurt, heartbreak and betrayal speaks volumes in this poem. You miss someone dearly and it's very saddening that such a wonderful part of your life can be thought of as anything different than beautiful.
