Tabhair Gra Dom (Just Love Me)

by Darlene   Jan 10, 2008

Sacrifices she made without thought of consequence
Selflessly giving fortunes, dreams, trust
Shedding the armor without fear of elements
Opening unconditionally the inner most rivers of emotions

Accepting what was once but a dream
A dream of happiness and unconditional love
Hope brought forth unexpectedly from ice
Will the ice melt and reveal what dwells in his eyes

It does not-for a blizzard sweeps in
And envelopes the vulnerable spirit
Ice has many sharp points protruding
Pricking harshly until life drains relentlessly

Ice overflowing with selfishness and greed
Too blind to see what is offered
Opportunity to build a dream
Spirit sacrificing to give him back his own

Instead of solid foundation
Chosen is the unstable wind
Carrying away without even a goodbye
Leaving to worry a kindred spirit

Trepidation fills her soul
But reality unearths betrayal
A gift treasured-drawn with love
Found taken back and given to another to wear forever

All hope, faith and trust gone
Tolerant of dwelling loneliness
Destined for solitude
Never to flower again

Only one request made
Only one request denied
Tabhair Gra Dom
Just Love Me
