Jokers Remain Unseen

by JaM   Jan 14, 2008

A purpose of entertainment,
does not always ensure happiness,
covered by a mask,
hidden is my loneliness.

I am paid to be something I am not,
sacrifices are made for money,
seeking approval of my duty,
"you're doing the right thing, hunny."

I explore the beauty of creativity,
within boundaries set before me,
my desires are lost in the past,
there was once a time I was free.

My choices are unwise,
as my personality is unknown,
this is the life I am to live,
it was confirmed by what I have been shown.

If you do not know me in the beginning,
then you will not in the end,
either way you never will,
as I am paid to pretend.

Very deep and truly greatly written. I really line this poem from the beginning to the end.You picked interesting topic and wrote truly good piece. Your descriptions are great. You created fantastic flow in every stanza. The only thing I don't like is rhyme me/free it sounds too typical, but that's just my opinion- I didn't mean to offend you or something like that.
    Well done!
    5/5 from me
